Hello, I am Martin Boire, Chairman of Support Our Troops®.
Thank you taking the time to look us up.
This letter is my opportunity to tell you a bit about us in a more personal sort of way.
Over 90% of Americans have never served in the military. I am one of them.
My belief: They Support Us – Let’s Support Them!™
We founded Support Our Troops as a means of meeting the moral obligation of those of us who are not serving, to those of us who do; it is civilians voluntarily offering what is morally owed.
I posit the following moral question: Your neighbor leaves his family to go off and protect your family. Morally what you should do for his family? For her family?
This is a tall moral obligation -- looking out for the families of the troops who are off looking our for our families. Those who preserve our liberties, livelihoods, and businesses - and have families at home while they do.
It is our conviction that the enemy may compel a parent to leave their family, but they will not steal that family’s future. I will not allow the future of my neighbor's children to be forfeit simply because he or she chooses to go off and protect my family.
SupportOurTroops.org is a family operation. What do I mean by that? I mean that Support Our Troops® is a vehicle through which all of our families can look out for our troops' families, while they are off protecting our families.
We are built with the single goal in mind of supporting the troops that support all of us. We are "civvies" assisting the troops and their families. We are average folks banning together to help our neighbors who are protecting all of us. We do for those who do for us.
What do we want? We want to help keep their families intact while the parent(s) are engaged in protecting our families, whether it is a peacekeeping mission, a war, or a hurricane, flood, or other disaster.
How? By providing simple direct means such as causing official Support Our Troops license plates to be issued through which we can all aggregate money for their benefit.
Our Support Our Troops! license plates enable people to publicly state their support for their troops and families, and provide a means of raising patriotic private money™ to bolster the troops families.
I believe that no matter when or where the troops are ordered to go, good Americans always stick up for the folks who stick up for them.
I also believe that America is a Visionary Nation. Every so often we gather our strength, focus our energy, and take a new direction. We do this on faith, and not always with full knowledge of the entire path before us. But we do so with the with knowledge that He is not out to trick us, and will make clear our path and purpose. No matter how certain a plan may be, there is always a leap of faith. And it is that faith, coupled with trust and confidence in our fellow men and women, and that has brought America to greatness. And the men and women who are joining Support Our Troops® are just such people. We are in the company of great people. People of great vision.
I believe that if you have made it this far into this website and this letter, you are one of those great people.
Trusting in truth, right, and virtue, you and everyone who has joined Support Our Troops has thrown in on a quest to forever put in place a trustworthy organization through which to watch over the families of those who watch over all of us.
Support Our Troops is the doing of individual people across America. Not big government. Not big business. Average people, here and there, in towns across America, banding together for the betterment of our amazing troops and their families.
People like you.
And as a result we are together setting forth upon the American landscape something wonderful and permanent that will watch over our troops' families as the troops watch over us: Support Our Troops®, a great charity focused on those who protect all of us.
This charity is from our families, to their families. They protect ours. We’ll protect theirs.
