As usual, we are terrible swamped simultaneously creating and operating, hence my blogs are not frequent enough. But I figure honesty dictates that when I blog, you get something that I actually wrote, not something another wrote and I signed off on. The Popcorn Project. Well, everyone show know that the tallies are in and Popcorn Project has generated $4,750,000 worth of popcorn treats which we have and will be sending to the troops. Absolutely amazing. Support Our Troops®, the Boy Scouts of America and the Trail's End Popcorn Company joined forces this Fall to do something unique for the military troops and their families. During their annual popcorn drive, the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts offered their customers the opportunity to make a $25 donation of popcorn products to the active duty troops and their families. And hundreds of thousands of average Americans down every little street and in every little neighborhood of this unique nation jumped at the chance. And at $25 a pop, $4,750,000 worth of popcorn treats were donated. An absolute testament to what people really think about their deployed neighbors. We are now working with the appropriate people in the various military branches facilitating the delivery of the gift items to the troops and their families. Our present plan is to target delivery for the Super Bowl, so that we can pass a message that while we are all here safe at home eating our popcorn and watching the game, the troops around the world, thanks to the love of their fellows here at home, are as well watching it with popcorn testifying to the love and loyalty of those of us back here at home. That should produce a marketable media message which, absent ill-intent, all sectors of the media should report to all Americans. What I mean here is, that unless any certain media sectors are intent on manipulating the news and thus America's future and America's people, this is an amazing true and simple American Tale, a story of little kids offering and citizens responding across this entire beautiful country, -- a true measure of what Americans really think about their troops. As one can imagine, the logistics of making this delivery happen worldwide, with proper security concerns being addressed for our troops, is daunting, but I think we're are up to it. The UV Project. Thanks to the sponsorship of Crabtree & Evelyn, starting in January Support Our Troops® will distributing $256,562 worth of top quality UV-protection products to troops around the world, all with thank-you signage from us civilians safely here at home. We'll let you know about this project as it unfolds. Please let others know about this gift because companies that stand up for what is morally right should be rewarded by people's patronage. And when you have a moment, please send them a think you letter or email. The License Plate Project. The South Carolina DMV told us the Support Our Troops! plate was out at all their tag offices as of 12-7-07. So we announced it. Then they 12-10-07 they said it's been delayed. We're looking into it, but sure wish everyone in America would move a fast and diligently for the troops as they move for all of us. Heck, there's a war on, not a TV show or a news item. The New York and Arizona Support Our Troops! plates have been started legislatively for the 2008 session. We have good bi-partisan sponsors in both chambers. If you live in these two states and would like get involved and help, please let us know. Where We Need Help. There is strength in numbers and therefore the two most important things everyone can daily do are: (2) Get everyone you can to sign up for the free entry membership level in the association, here: http://www.supportourtroops.org/register.html Thanks.
