SupportOurTroops.Org, CFC#31529, has just shipped 1,258,962 free servings of popcorn good-will gifts to the men, women and families of the United States Air Force stationed and serving around the continental united states. That’s 324 pallets. Over 8 tractor-trailers! That’s 15,580 cases! $1,340,856 worth! 146 tons!
What a positive show of support for the troops!
Between May 16th and 30th, tractor trailers are delivering the popcorn to almost every Air Force base here in the states. What a gesture of our trust in them, and our honest gratitude for everything they do to protect all of we civilians and our families.
Earlier this year at the end of March, SupportOurTroops.Org also shipped 157,140 free servings of popcorn good-will gifts to the men and women of the United States Air Force stationed and serving in Kuwait, Afghanistan and Iraq. That’s 45 pallets. That’s 2,530 cases! $220,639 worth! 20 tons! That shipment went by metal cargo container and ocean freighter to SW Asia. And each case was marked with a thank-you signage from all of us here at home.
Support Our Troops Chairman Martin C. Boire said “We’re thrilled to give this simple gift the troops. They do so much every day for us civilians and our families, and it’s time to show them how much we care. It is a living memorial, a living testament to all those who have gone before”
Each case is labeled with signage saying thank-you. What a fun way to show them how much we think of them! What a tremendous gesture of good will.
About SupportOurTroops.Org
SupportOurTroops.Org, CFC#31529, offers simple ways for folks to thank and show support to American troops (our neighbors) serving all over the world. It is a non-partisan, non-political civilian organization, welcoming civilians, active-duty families, and veterans as members. Donations at SupportOurTroops.Org help us do wonderful things like this for the troops and their families.
Who did this?
SupportOurTroops.org, and its cooperating partners the Boy Scouts of America, and the Trails End Popcorn Company teamed up to pull this off. Said Support Our Troops® Chairman Martin C. Boire: “kids, you want to know how to pull off something this huge? Get into Scouting, you’ll get to organize hundreds of things.” I did.
Who manufactured it?
Nothing but the best for our troops! Trail’s End popcorn is known as America’s Best Popcorn. It is produced by Weaver Popcorn Company, one of the largest producers and manufacturers of popcorn products in the world. An 80-year-old, family-owned company located in Indiana, Weaver Popcorn distributes its products in more than 90 countries.
Where did all this popcorn come from?
From the American People! The Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts went door to door across America and asked people if they would like to donate $25 of popcorn treats to the troops. And at $25 a pop this many people did.
What else are we doing?
Vice President Bruce Jonas said, “we’re the license plate people. We have completed state-issuance of Support Our Troops! plates in 24 states to date, and have more underway. Those plates help us do good things like this for our deployed neighbors. Sign up for your plate today. You can find out the status of the effort in your state at www.SupportOurTroops.org.”
