January 26, 2009 - Bolt one on for the troops today!Don't delay - the troops didn’t!
To order your Support Our Troops! plate:
That’s it! Support Our Troops® has brought about the issuance of our trademark Support Our Troops! specialty plate in North Carolina, and about 25 other states to date. This has been a Herculean effort by many civilians. Before the North Carolina DMV will stamp the plates out in metal and place them for sale in normal manner statewide, a final block of applications needs to be gathered and submitted. So to get this done and get this great specialty plate on the road for the troops SupportOurTroops.Org is giving away the last 150 applications. Just like manufacturers do to promote a new product. Support Our Troops, Inc. is paying the $30 state fee for the first 150 applications we receive on a first-come, first-serve basis by U.S. Mail at the address on the applications. Plate Sign-up TickerAs of March 23, 2009:
So bolt on one for the troops today! Background The plate was created by the Legislature at our request and signed into law by the Governor. The last step in the process is for us to collect an initial block of applications and turn them in to the DMV. They will then manufacture the plates and place them in all tag offices for general sales statewide. Once manufactured, the DMV will send these initial plates directly to those who sign up for them. This will take several months after we turn them in due to the state setting up the artwork, coding their computers and so forth. We need you to step up for the troops and help us do it. All you have to do is volunteer to accept a free license plate for the first year. After the first year, the plate costs an extra $30 a year, most of which state passes over to the nonprofit SupportOurTroops.Org to do good things for the troops. If you don't renew in a year, the state will just give you a regular plate back -- but you will have helped us get this plate on the road so others can see it and buy it in tag offices statewide. Please help us get this done for the troops and their families. They Support Us -- Let's Support Them!™ |
