The latest news on what your organization is doing for the troops!

TexasAM121009a
Texas - December 15, 2009:  Our hat is off to the students of Texas A&M University.   Whoop! for Troops produced 1,034 pounds of goods over 3,880 cards for the troops this December!  SupportOurTroops.Org is shipping it out to troops overseas Wednesday the 16th just in time for Christmas.   Whoop! for Troops, is a Community Service project put on by Memorial Student Center LEAD project at Texas A&M University and is a part of MSC’s Month of Giving.

This year was the most successful collection drive for Whoop! For Troops, with over double the amount of pounds ever collected and over triple the amount of cards ever collected!    This would not have been such a huge success without the continued help and support from the Aggie Community!

A true testament to how much average Americans care about those who have stepped up for them!

Ft. Hood Christmas Treat

Written by sotstaff
Nov. 23, 2009 -

46,000 servings of popcorn and trail mix have been sent to troops, their kids and spouses at Fort Hood for Christmas.   Something simple.  Something fun.  A special treat for extraordinary people.  People who live a difficult life and do difficult work, forced to endure risks both from without and from within.   And all for we civilians.

To the troops, your kids, and your spouses we say, may God Bless you each and every one.   May He may His face shine upon you and give you peace as you carry the burden of protecting all of us.  Your job is not easy.  Your families’ lives can be tough.  And all for our sakes.  These small tokens are meant to lighten the load, assure you that we civilians know you are there, that we appreciate you and support you.   To your kids we say than you for enduring everything you do so that your parent can protect us and our kids.  You lead a different life than we do.   We want you to know that we know it is not easy, we are grateful, and that we are doing what we can to help.

You need to know that to make this Christmas gift possible, Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts cared enough to go house to house down most every street in America,  and ask people if they wanted to make a gift of popcorn to you.  And  hundreds of thousands of people did.   Putting together millions of dollars of popcorn which SupportOurTroops.Org ships to troops all around the world.  A warm taste of home.  A  thank-you from all of us.   An all-American treat to the most American Americans we know -  you who stand up for all of us.    Is that amazing or what.   Think about it.  Millions of dollars of popcorn and trail mix, all from average people down average little streets  across this country, all assembled at $25 a pop.  That’s a lot of people that care about you. In the crush of everyday life it is hard for people to find ways to do things, and when they are offered this opportunity that many people jumped.   That’s a true testament to how much everyone loves you, is with you, and appreciates what you go through for our sakes.  That is proof positive to you of how grateful they are to you.

To our fellow civilians we say: Who are you and what are you made of? If you have character and believe in backing up the folks who stand up for you, then support this good work by giving here.

10,720 Bags of Trail Mix to Alabama Guard Units.

Written by Martin Boire

September 15, 2009 -

SupportOurTroops.Org has shipped 670 cases, that's 10,720 bags, of Trails-End® Venturing Trail Mix to the Alabama National Guard to give to deploying troops and their kids at home.

Each case is labeled with signage saying thank-you from us folks here at home.  What a fun way to show them how much we think of them!  What a tremendous gesture of good will.

Who did this?

SupportOurTroops.org, the Boy Scouts of America, and the Trails End Popcorn Company teamed up to pull this off.  Said  Support Our Troops Chairman Martin C. Boire: “kids, you want to know how to pull off something this huge?  Get into Scouting, you’ll get to organize hundreds of things. I did."

Who manufactured it?

Nothing but the best for our troops!  Trail’s End popcorn is known as America’s Best Popcorn. It is produced by Weaver Popcorn Company, one of the largest producers and manufacturers of popcorn products in the world. An 80-year-old, family-owned company located in Indiana, Weaver Popcorn distributes its products in more than 90 countries.

Where did all this popcorn come from?

From the American People!   The Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts went door to door across America and asked people if they would like to donate $25 of popcorn treats to the troops.  And at $25 a pop this many people did.

Does your company have anything we could send to the troops?

Would your chain store run one of our programs to collect goods for the troops and their families or help us raise money?

Isn’t it time to show them how much your company cares?

M&Ms® Sent to Troops
November 3, 2009 -

How do you brighten up the day of someone who’s feeling a bit neglected?   M&Ms! About $90,000 worth!

SupportOurTroops.Org has just shipped two pallets of M&Ms® to field hospital and commissary-gift type huts soldiers first reach when they fall back from the front lines.   A fun thank-you and morale booster straight from the civilians here at home to tell them we know they are there, appreciate them, and are doing everything we can as civilians to support them.

Who did this?  Support Our Troops® and an Eagles chapter in Florida teamed up to pull this off for the troops.
