Iraqi Police Pursue AQI Explosives-cell Network, Arrest 3

IraqMapBAGHDAD — Iraqi Police arrested three suspected terrorists Tuesday during a joint security operation targeting a suspected al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) explosives-device cell member in Hammam al-Alil, located approximately 23 km south of Mosul.

Acting upon a warrant issued by an Iraqi court, Iraqi Police and U.S. advisors searched several buildings for a suspected AQI explosives-cell member wanted for staging deadly vehicle-borne improvised explosive device attacks against security forces in Mosul.

Following preliminary questioning and assessing the evidence at the scene, the Iraqi Police arrested three suspected criminal associates of the warranted AQI member.
