Chapter Rules - New Jersey

Membership.

1. New Jersey residents may join this Chapter as an All-American Member without purchasing a Support Our Troops! license plate by Registering and paying no dues.
2. New Jersey residents who wish to purchase an official New Jersey Support Our Troops! motor vehicle license plate may do so by Registering as a Loyalist Member, completing the license plate application, and paying the dues.

Dues. Loyalist Members desiring a Support Our Troops! plate have dues of $25.00 per year, because New Jersey does not sell specialty plates directly in its license plate offices and this is the only way Support Our Troops^® can maintain the Support Our Troops! plate program for the benefit of the active duty troops and their families.

Privileges. All Members have the privileges specified in the national rules. Loyalist and higher level Memberships additionally have the privilege of acquiring and displaying an official New Jersey Support Our Troops! motor vehicle license plate.

Administration. To keep overhead low this Chapter is administered through the state’s webpage using various internet communication tools, combined with the assistance of a volunteer Chapter Coordinator.

Legal Status. Membership is subject to the Articles of Incorporation and Membership Rules (Bylaws) of the Americans Support Our Troops Association, Inc., into which these Chapter Rules are incorporated.

License. You are acquiring a license to use Support Our Troops^® artwork and trademark on your motor vehicle license plate for a period of one year.  You acknowledge that this artwork and the trademark "Support Our Troops" are the property of Support Our Troops, Inc. and/or its licensor, the Support Our Troops Foundation, Inc.  and that if you do not renew your dues/license each year, then you will surrender the plate and artwork.

Renewal.  You agree that Support Our Troops^® can charge the annual dues to your credit card once per year in the month prior to your registration renewal month for the right to continue the license. (New Jersey will not yet collect this for us each year and so we must do so). Annual vehicle registration fees due the State are not included in the dues/license.  Support Our Troops^® reserves the right to convert this program to one in which the state collects and forwards the funds should that option become available, and to issue a plate decal or artwork each year to show that the payment is current.

Amendments. These Rules may be amended from time to time. Amendments are effective when posted. Members should check back periodically to review current Chapter Rules.
