Business Model

The business model of Support Our Troops^® is to put in place multiple recurring charitable revenue streams in order to dependably provide morale-boosting support for the troops and their families in a direct citizen-to-citizen manner.  We focus on putting in place programs and methods which enable each of us to personally take responsibility for our neighbors when we ask them to protect us.

Our flagship program is the official DMV motor vehicle Support Our Troops! specialty license plates which we have caused to be issued in states both red and blue across the nation, many unanimously by their Legislatures.  These Support Our Troops! plates will (a) allow people to publicly show their patriotism for their troops and families, and (b) raise patriotic private money for SOT^® to use to bolster the troops and families who are sacrificing to protect all of us.   When completed, this one program will generate over $10 million annually to this organization for our charitable activities.

Donations assist in putting these plates on the road and donations will in turn multiply themselves many times over through these revenue-generating license plates. 

In the interim, our associated programs facilitate other nonprofits and organizations which provide current benefits to, or perform specific tasks that benefit or boost the morale of, the troops or their families.  Some of our programs include:

• The Support Our Troops Association, which enables people to band together for the troops and their families.  
• The Seal of Assurance™ Program, which facilitates more giving to all troop-related groups by authorizing their use of the Seal of Assurance™ if an appropriate of their activities reasonably benefit the troops or their families. 
• The Find-A-Group™ Program, a major service program linking everyone up by providing a consolidated, editable, searchable list of all charities and organizations doing anything that benefits the active duty troops or their families. 
• The Care Package Program, which ships and enables everyone to ship, personal care items to troops all over the  world, which have been specifically requested by the troops. 
• The Popcorn Project,  which actively involves Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, and average people in every state and in most every city therein, and ships free popcorn to the troops.  
• The Media Distribution Service Program, which facilitates activities for other groups which assist the troops and their families or rally support for them by issuing free news releases.
• The Community Forum Program, which functions through a community forum area of the SupportOurTroops.org website and is focused on providing interpersonal connection, interaction and sharing among people in need of same. 
• The Apparel and Accessories Program, which is facilitating the retail marketing of genuine Support Our Troops^® apparel, accessories, jewelry, magnets, ribbons, stickers, and such.

We anticipate that in mid to late 2009 our the flagship license plate program will be substantially completed.  This schedule will enable us to secure stable recurring charitable revenue streams in order to offer dependable programs for the beneficiaries, and is far superior to building a hat-in-hand or hand-to-mouth charity.
